The main city church, "Nativity of the Virgin Mary," is more than just a temple – it is a silent witness to the transformation of Berovo from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. Its construction began in the pivotal year of 1912, a period of great historical upheavals, which makes its completion and consecration in 1922 a true feat of the local population. This temple is an expression of the deep respect of the people of Berovo towards the Holy Mother of God, their protector, and represents a core around which the spiritual and social life in Maleshevo has been woven for a century.

Architecturally, the church impresses with its size and dignified appearance. What makes the interior unique is the unusual solution of the ceiling – a flat space painted in a striking green color, symbolizing life and hope, while the central part is raised and decorated with decorative fields that give the space additional depth and solemnity. Although the walls are not covered with the usual frescoes, it is precisely that spaciousness and purity that contribute to the feeling of elevation and inner peace for everyone who crosses the western threshold.

A special mark of the church complex is the bell tower, erected in 1930. With its height and characteristic style, it is one of the most recognizable symbols of Berovo, whose sound has marked the beginning of celebrations for decades and invites believers to common prayer.
